EU

The European Union (EU) is a unique economic and political union comprising 27 European countries. It was founded to foster peace, democracy, and prosperity through shared goals and cooperation. The EU operates a vast single market—and, for Eurozone members, a shared currency (the euro)—and is built on common values such as human dignity, freedom, equality, and the rule of law. Its institutional framework includes key bodies like the European Parliament, the European Council, the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, the Court of Justice, the European Central Bank, and the Court of Auditors, each playing distinct roles in shaping and implementing EU policy.
