ISLAMABAD, Feb 10, 2014: The World Wildlife Fund on Monday launched a special project to equip 300 men and women with employable skills in the southern Punjab.The initiative-Green Skills Project, is supported by the TVET Reform Support Programme, which is co-funded by the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands and the Federal Republic of Germany and being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH GIZ in collaboration with National Vocational and Technical
Training Commission (NAVTTC).
Baleegh-ur-Rehman, Minister of state for Education Trainings and standards in Higher Education launched the project at a ceremony held here on Monday. Apart from a large number of people from different walks of life, Director General, WWF- Pakistan Ali Hassan Habib, and Dr. Juile Reviere, Principal Advisor TVET Reform Support Programme were also present on the occasion.
The project aims at training 300 young men and women in occupational skills such as renewable energy, livestock management and crop administration during a period of one year.
Overall the project will benefit 2300 families in four districts of southern Punjab including Muzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Khanewal and Jhang.
