TVET Reforms in Punjab

TVET Sector Support Programme for the TVET reforms in in Punjab have established 210 IMCs and established a provincial skills forum for enhanced private sector engagement. Programme has facilitated more than 220 partnerships for promotion of workplace-based training. For implementation of competency-based training and assessment over 19,000 RPL assessments are carried out and more than 15,000 youth are trained and graduated. For improved quality of TVET delivery more than 2,000 teachers, 77 chief master and master trainers, 279 principals, and 573 assessors are trained and certified. For improved governance around 206 institutes have been accredited by NAVTTC. Last but not the least, programme has supported in development of 1st provincial Skills Policy in Punjab. The TVET Sector Support Programme is funded by the European Union, Federal Republic of Germany and the Royal Norwegian Embassy. The Programme has been commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and is being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close collaboration with the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) as well as provincial Technical Education and Vocational Training Authorities (TEVTAs) and private sector organizations.
