CBT assessors receive first-ever national certificates

cbt-assessors-receive-first-ever-national-certificates-2 ISLAMABAD, Sept 01, 2016: The National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) has certified over 100 assessors to conduct assessment of the Competency Based Training (CBT) across the country.

To encourage the certified CBT assessors, a certificate distribution ceremony was organized by the NAVTTC in collaboration with theTVET Reform Support Programme, which is funded by the European Union and governments of Netherlands, Germany and Norway.

Executive Director NAVTTC, Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema was the chief guest at the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Cheema said that the introduction of CBT courses is a paradigm shift in the TVET delivery, which the NAVTTC is currently spearheading. He further added that CBT is one of the innovative approaches to reduce unemployment ratio in the country.

cbt-assessors-receive-first-ever-national-certificates-1Moreover, the CBT programme provides the basis for the implementation of the National Vocational Qualifications Framework (NVQF) at a national level, he said. Under this paradigm shift, the training programs are designed and delivered by adopting a systematic approach, focusing on better employability of the trainees with a strong link to the market. The duration of these new special training programmes ranges between 6-12 months.

Mr. Cheema said that the quality training and qualified teachers/assessors are the key elements of successful TVET delivery. He encouraged the newly certified assessors to perform their duties with utmost honesty and true zeal.

On this occasion, Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema and a number of leading employers distributed certificates among the assessors.
