Task forces to prepare plan for 10,000 in-service TVET teachers

ISLAMABAD: Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform Support Programme facilitated a one-day workshop for introducing the concept for in-service training of 10,000 teachers in Pakistan’s TVET institutes.

Shahrukh Nusrat, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Director General (Planning and Development), inaugurated the session held on Feb 28.

Representatives of TVET stakeholders; NAVTTC, provincial Technical Education and Vocational Training Authorities (TEVTAs), Punjab Vocational Training Council, and National Institute of Science and Technical Education, participated in the meeting.
The meeting participants constituted six regional task forces from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.The participants of the meeting were given a presentation on TVET Reform Support Programme; competency based training, blended learning approach for TVET teachers and the profile of staff trainers to be eligible for becoming lead trainers and e-tutors.
The task forces will formulate and submit till March 20 their recommendations for finalizing the teacher training contents, organizational structure and administrative procedures along-with the plan of operation to prepare the lead trainers and e-coaches.
