Project Description:
Trans-genders and women are marginalized groups of Pakistan. They have negligible access to trainings due to cultural barriers. This project will enhance opportunities of economic empowerment and improve self-image of neglected segment of the population. Poor women and trans-genders will be selected for trainings for industrial stitching of garments. They will afterwards be employed by the industrial units in the vicinity. The purpose of the project is to teach these groups skills and create market linkages for their absorption. The beneficiaries are unique especially trans-genders as they are one of the most neglected segment of the population. These trainings will empower the beneficiaries and prevent them from begging on the streets and contribute to a healthy and balanced society.
