EFP presents awards to best companies for producing skilled workforce

EFP award1KARACHI, Sept 09, 2015: The Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) on Wednesday presented awards to a number of national and multinational  companies for their contribution towards creation of skilled workforce in Pakistan under its 3nd Employer of the Year Award-2014 Competition.

The annual awards were given in a ceremony held here on Wednesday, where Dr. Aisha Ghous Pasha, Minister of Finance Government of Punjab was the Chief Guest while Mr. Arif Elahi, Chairman Pakistan National Shipping Corporation and Ms. Anne Kofoed, Head of Section Education & Governance European Union delegation to Pakistan were the Guests of Honour. The event was attended by over 200 participants drawn from business, government, employers, workers and members of civil society.

EFP award2Since 2012, the EFP has been organizing “Employer of the Year Award” to recognize and honour the efforts of enterprises for their contribution and commitment towards creation of skilled workforce and provision of a safe and supportive work environment. This year the EFP received 33 entries and the winners were conferred with awards in different categories.

The competition was supported by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform Support Programme, which is co-funded by the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the Federal Republic of Germany and being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close coordination with National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
