Pakistan TVET REFORM Support Programme Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform support Programme
GILGIT, June 26, 2014: Department of 
Minerals and Industries, Labor and Manpower Gilgit-Baltistan have launched a drive to educate the students from the general stream of education on the importance of technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
The awareness campaign is supported by the TVET Reform Support Programme, which is co-funded by the European Union, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Federal Republic of Germany and being implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close collaboration with National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC).
In this regard three one day each sessions were organized in three different villages of Tehsil Danyore. The first session took place on May 17, wherein more than four hundred students from Shaheen Boys Model School and Degree College, Government Girls High School, College of Business and Management Sciences (CBMS) and Global Higher Secondary School, Danyore participated in the session.
The second session took place in Aga Khan D. JModel School Rahim Abad on May 29. More than three hundred students/participants from Government Girls High School, Nomal, Government High School, Rahimabad and D.J High School, Nomal participated.
The third session was organized in Government Girls High School Oshikhandas in which around three hundred students from the vicinity participated.
Apart from the students a large number of notables, parents and local community leaders were also present during these sessions. In these sessions, boys and girls students from grade 8th, 9th and 10th were given basic information about TVET opportunities and its importance.
During the Q & A sessions students asked questions regarding technical education and future of the training in Gilgit-Baltistan as well as in Pakistan and experts of TEVT briefed them accordingly. Ends
