Pakistan TVET REFORM Support Programme Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform support Programme

KARACHI: Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) has expressed willingness to participate actively in the reform of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and contribute to the professional skills development.
The EFP expressed this resolve in a meeting held at EFP headquarters here on Tuesday with a delegation of TVET Reform Support Programme led by its coordinator Dr. Ute Hoffmann. EFP President Haji Muhammad Javed and chairmen of all the standing committees participated in the meeting, which was convened to explore avenues of joint cooperation for promoting TVET in Pakistan.
Employers being the important stakeholders and one of the major beneficiaries of an effective TVET system have an important role to play in reforming the TVET sector in Pakistan. It was explained in the meeting that the role of the private sector is considered crucial in increasing quality and relevance of TVET needed for developing highly qualified workforce.
In the meeting constitution of a core-group consisting of EFP and TVET Reform Support Programme was also agreed. This proposed core-group will chalk out a joint activity plan for designing the institutionalized involvement of the private sector in the TVET development.
