Lahore March 17, 2022: A certificate award ceremony was held in Lahore on Thursday, March 17th, 2022 for Master Trainers in Solar PV Systems trained under the Clean Power Purchasing Development project. The project is being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as part of the DeveloPPP.de Programme of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development (BMZ).
Chairperson TEVTA Punjab, Mr. Ali Salman Siddique grace the event as chief guest and distributed certificates among the master trainers along with Mr. Moazzam Iqbal Sipra, Director General Punjab Skills Development Authority, Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Bhatti, Chairperson Solar Quality Foundation (SQF), Mr. Faisal Mahmood, Regional Coordinator (Punjab)/DV Clean Power Purchasing Development Project, Mr. Haseeb Saadat, CEO Allied Solar Private Limited & local partner of Power One for One Germany. Other senior officials of Punjab TEVTA and Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) also attended the event.
The project has trained 37 Master Trainers from TVET institutes in Punjab on design, installation, operation & maintenance of solar PV systems. A 10-kW grid-connected solar PV plant has also been installed with the support of project partner Power One for One at TEVTA Government Technical Training Institute, Gulberg Lahore for education purpose.
With the develoPPP Programme, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) promotes private-sector activities where entrepreneurial opportunities and development policy potential meet. The aim is to support private companies to make sustainable investment in developing or emerging economies and expand their local operations. In essence the DeveloPPP Programme supports funding together with private companies for projects having long term business interests in the project country and a sustainable development benefit for the local people.
The Clean Power Purchasing Development Project is implemented in Pakistan by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as part of the DeveloPPP Programme of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development (BMZ). Two global companies AREAM GmbH and Power One for One (POFO) GmbH are the private sector partners. The project is being implemented with the objective to transfer knowledge & skill on technical planning, operation & maintenance of solar power projects in Pakistan.
